Hcc Saint Moritz Hotel - Presentation
Located next to Pg. de Gràcia and refurbished as a hotel in 1990, the hotel will be completely renovated in mid-2009. The hotel is located in one of the most classical buildings in the centre of Barcelona. The hotel has 91 completely refurbished rooms equipped with direct dial telephone, satellite TV, free Canal +, free ADSL Internet connection, air conditioning, heating, mini bar, in-room safety deposit box, and a complete en suite fully fitted bathroom with hair dryer and telephone, plus laundry and room service.

I stayed at the Hcc St Moritz hotel for 4 night. Though the location is central, our overall experience at the hotel was not pleasant. The manager was angry when our car was parked in front of the hotel. The room stinked badly and they did not even change the bedsheets for a number of days. There was a blackout for two consecutive nights. After this experience, I would not recommed this to anyone.
I stayed in this hotel with my friends for 4 nights. Wow! The only hotel where the rooms were as large as US hotel rooms, which we were not expecting in Barcelona. The beds were clean and comfortable with lots of space. The bathroom was large with a nice shower and tub. The room faced a courtyard and so it was peaceful inside. The area was close to the bus stop for travelling around and going to the airport. All sight seeing places were closeby too. Lots of bars/cafes to eat around. Only problem was that AC was not available which made the room hot. Overall, one of the best hotels in the city.
We stayed here for 2 nights after our cruise from Barcelona. The hotel is located just off the gracia and very close to Ramblas. The check in and checkout were done with ease and the services were satisfactory. The breakfast buffet was impressive with many healthy options to choose from like soy drinks, glutten free stuff and milk. The room was like European size room and was clean and peaceful. PCs were available in the lobby for use. I would recommend this place.
It is a 4 star hotel but I would rate it a 3 star. Overall, it was a good experience and the hotel had positives and some negatives. Positives –
1.Location is just a minute from Passeig de gracia, and metro and a nice short walk to the La Ramblas. 2. The staff conversed well in English and they were friendly and professional.
3.the rooms were clean and had sufficient amenities.
4. The rooms which face courtyard are bright and peaceful.
Negatives -
1. The breakfast buffet was insanely expensive at 20€ as there are lot of cheaper options right outside the hotel.
2. Matrresses were not very comfortable.
3. the room facing the lift/shaft are very noisy and should be avoided completely.
