Caledonian Hotel - Presentation
The hotel Caledonian is located right in the centre of Barcelona, the ideal spot for exploring or doing business in the city. The hotel offers a friendly service in a private setting. Renovated in 2005, the hotel now has 57 rooms.

We stayed at the Caledonian a couple of months back and were disappointed. The least you expect is the staff to be friendly and if you don’t find that , it is a disappointment. The bathroom was tiny and it stunk. Not much choice for breakfast. The housekeeping staff didn’t seem to do a good job. We were shocked when we found our bags opened one day. They did not even give any contact details to file a complaint. Definitely a no-no to this place.
I reached the hotel and my room was not ready and I was made to wait for half an hour. I had taken a single room since I was alone and trust me it was the tiniest room ever. No doubt that the room was very clean and it had a minibar with the usual drinks. The bathroom was also nice with a hairdryer. The only thing was that my room size was too small, else the hotel was very hygeinic and warm. The breakfast was the best part with a wide selection of food – fruits, coffee, cereal, sausage, etc. The hotel is about 10 mins from Catalunya. Don’t expect the hotel to have luxuries like a gym, pool, etc but it is a nice hotel if you try to get a bigger room.
The location is great for going to Ramblas. We were sharing a triple room which was of a decent size. The bathroom was also clean and adequate. The room was away from noise, so we could relax. The thick curtains were great for a peaceful sleep. But, there was no kettle in the room for making tea or coffee and the housekeeping kept disturbing us even when we had put the sign outside. The taxis were easily available outside the hotel. The staff was friendly and overall, it was a nice hotel.
