Axel Hotel Barcelona is located in Gayxample, the heart of the gay scene in Barcelona. Built in a refurbished nineteenth century building, its spaces are designed for design, atmosphere, comfort and service together. Furniture of AXEL is from Vitra, Kartell and Swan, Kenzo fabrics, and the unique Axel mosaic defines the AXEL atmosphere. It has 66 soundproofed rooms, air conditioned, bright and very comfortable, with king-size bed, bathrobes, plasma TV, Wi-Fi, video on demand and room service. Axel Hotel Barcelona was voted as the "Best gay hotel in the world" by readers of prestigious travel magazine The Out Traveler (U.S.).

I stayed in this hotel with my friends and we were impressed with the AXEL hotel. It has a cozy waiting place at the entrance and is quite appealing. Most of the rooms have a terrace with nice views. The hotel provides all the Spa amenities, a pool and a gym. If you want access too the internet, you can use the computer on the 2nd floor or pay 6 pounds for a day. If you are thirsty at midnight, you can access the refrigerater installed on each floor. To sum up, a great place to stay.
We went to Barcelona from USA and after long journey, treated very well by hotel staff. They were polite and helpful always ready to help the bed was very comfortable too the place around is gay friendly with many gay bars and clubs around. Breakfast buffet was very impressive. will stay here again and it is recommended. price was also good.
I stayed here with my wife and we had a wonderful experience. The location is convenient – 20 mins walk to Ramblas area and passage de Gracias. The rooms are nice, clean and stylish. The rooftop has a small pool and hot tub to relax after a tring day. Every floor in the hotel has a place which stocks free bottled water. There are some gay bars nearby the hotel and good coffee shops around. Overall, a wonderful place for value.
